Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about saying “I do” at Vow Lane.
The basics
What is Vow Lane?
Vow Lane is a climate-controlled wedding experience studio in East TN, created for affordable weddings, elopements, and micro-weddings. You reserve the time you need in 30-minute increments, and we provide the setting, the styled backdrops, and the officiant. Drive-through ceremonies are coming soon.
Where is the studio?
Our studio location is coming soon — in East TN. We’ll share the exact address as soon as it’s confirmed. Reserve your spot or contact us and we’ll keep you posted.
When do you open?
We’re in pre-launch right now. You can reserve your spot on our launch waitlist today, and we’ll confirm dates once the studio opens.
Is Vow Lane family-run?
Yes. Vow Lane was founded by Gabe Reneau and his parents, Chris and Rhonda Reneau, joined by Gabe’s wife, Alexys Reneau. Rhonda designs and does all of the decorating; Chris, an ordained minister, officiates every ceremony; and Alexys helps with decorating, cooking and baking our in-house treats, and marketing. Chris and Rhonda previously owned and operated Heritage Park Weddings and Events in Townsend, Tennessee. Read our story.
Experiences & what’s included
What’s included in each experience?
Every experience includes an officiated ceremony and a styled backdrop. From there:
- I DO — 30 minutes; drive-thru option coming soon.
- JUST MARRIED — 60–90 minutes for 10–15 guests.
- MICRO WEDDING — 2–2.5 hours for 30–40 guests, with a reception area, flowers, and tables.
- FOREVER — 3–4 hours for 50–75 guests, with a coordinator, DJ, and video. Coming soon.
Photography, a violinist (live music), cake, cupcakes, mints, favors, and the sparkling cider toast aren’t included in any package — they’re add-ons. Videography is included with FOREVER and available as an add-on with the other experiences. Package details are being finalized. Compare experiences.
Do you offer vow renewals?
Yes! Vow renewals are offered with I DO and JUST MARRIED, at the same price and with the same inclusions. No marriage license is needed for a vow renewal. Just choose “Vow renewal” when you reserve your spot.
Can we add extra time, guests, or services?
Yes. Add-ons include photography ($250 per 30 minutes), videography, a violinist (live music, $500), a sparkling cider toast, cake, cupcakes, mints, favors, extra time in 30-minute blocks, and extra guests. You can also ask about services from our preferred local vendors (florists, DJs, hair & makeup, and catering). Other add-on pricing is available on request until it’s final. Food items are subject to sales tax; a final itemized quote will follow.
Is photography included?
Photography isn’t included in any package. It’s available as an add-on from our partner photographer at $250 per 30 minutes — choose how many 30-minute blocks you’d like (up to your booked time) when you reserve your spot. Videography is available as an add-on that covers your booked time.
Is cake or a toast included?
No. Cake, cupcakes, mints, and favors (in-house baked treats and small extras) and the sparkling cider toast (non-alcoholic) are add-ons, not included in any package. Pricing is available on request. Food items are subject to sales tax; a final itemized quote will follow.
Do you serve alcohol?
No. Vow Lane is planned as an alcohol-free studio at launch. Our sparkling cider toast add-on is non-alcoholic.
Can we write our own vows?
Of course. Many couples love writing their own; others prefer traditional vows. Let us know in your request, and we’ll talk it through before your day.
Can we bring our own vendors?
We’re building a preferred network of trusted local vendors to make planning easy. If you already have someone in mind, mention it in your request notes and we’ll talk about it.
When will FOREVER be available?
FOREVER launches once the studio’s guest capacity is confirmed. You can join the interest list now (no deposit), and we’ll reach out first when it opens.
Drive-through ceremonies
How will drive-through ceremonies work?
Drive-through ceremonies are coming soon. The idea is simple: a short, heartfelt ceremony you can enjoy from your vehicle. We’re confirming site and traffic plans before we offer them, so they can’t be booked yet. When you reserve an in-studio experience, you can check “Interested in a drive-through ceremony when available,” and we’ll let you know as soon as they open.
Booking & deposits
How does booking work right now?
Because we’re pre-launch, Reserve your spot is a request — not a final contract. Choose your experience, a preferred date and start time, your guest count, and any add-ons. We’ll follow up by email.
How does the $50 deposit work?
A refundable $50 deposit holds your place on our launch waitlist. Dates are confirmed after launch. We’ll share the full refund terms with you before you pay, and our secure payment link will be sent to you once it’s ready.
Why are times booked in 30-minute increments?
So you only reserve — and pay for — the time you actually need. Need longer? Add extra time in 30-minute blocks.
Marriage license
Do we need a marriage license?
Yes — please don’t forget it! In Tennessee, couples get a marriage license from a county clerk’s office before the ceremony. Requirements, fees, and timing are set by the state and county clerk, so check with the county clerk’s office for current details, and bring your license with you on your wedding day.
Renewing your vows? No marriage license is needed for a vow renewal.
This is a friendly reminder, not legal advice.
